At one time they were a pop/punk band named 2540 which is a reference to Matthew 25:40 from the Bible. The starting line up was brothers Daniel and Jeremy Swain on drums and guitar with Travis Bailey on bass, and headlining Steve Garnett on Kazoo. David Bunton sang in a pop/punk voice, very different from his style of singing today. Josh soon joined the band as the Swain brothers quit for school and job reasons. Travis switched over to guitar when a band friend Andrew Hall took the drumming position. Andrew lead the band in a more hardcore direction eventually changing their name to The Showdown. Late 2006, Andrew announced he was leaving the band. Shortly thereafter, ex-Still Remains drummer AJ Barrett took his place as the band's drummer
