Additional notes
The band started as a melodic black metal band, with vampire-themed lyrics, but on the second and the third album, they added more melodic/gothic elements to their music, becoming and extreme gothic metal band with their Suicide Vampire album. On the next two albums, Nightbreed Of Macabria and Pleasure And Pain they dropped almost all their extreme metal influences shifting to gothic metal/death rock. Three years later, on Anima Noir they started to play industrial / electronic gothic metal, highly influenced by EBM, darkwave, deathrock and industrial.

There are no founding members left in the band since Alessandro Nunziati left in 2004.

Theatres des Vampires was founded as Sepolcrum in 1988. They changed name after the third demo, "Gather My Blood Forever", released under the monicker VII Arcano (totally unrelated to the actual Italian band VII Arcano).
