In May of 2007, at a press conference for his new solo album Ziltoid the Omniscient, Devin Townsend announced that he had decided to put an end to Strapping Young Lad and The Devin Townsend Band, and to never tour again in the future. He will continue to record and release solo music and produce albums for other bands.
