Additional notes
One of the first doom metal bands, influenced by Black Sabbath.

Saint Vitus were formed in 1979 under the name Tyrant with Scott Reagers (vocals), Dave Chandler (guitar), Mark Adams (bass), and Armando Costa (drums), but changed their name to Saint Vitus a year later. In the mid-1980s, while The Obsessed were on hiatus, Scott "Wino" Weinrich would join the band up to their 1989 album "V". They released two more albums without him before splitting up in 1996.

The band briefly reunited for a few shows in 2003, and are back again touring now. It is however unclear if the band plans to record any new material as Saint Vitus.
