| Additional notes |
Jon Oliva began work on a solo project in 2003 while his old band Savatage was temporarily on hiatus, because of various issues. The band was originally to be called 'Tage Mahal (an allusion to the Savatage name later used as the title of the first album) but was changed to Jon Oliva's Pain to avoid confusion with the blues guitarist Taj Mahal.
The band has shared many members with Circle II Circle (another Savatage offshoot), and Jon has written music and provided guest vocals for them. He has also made guest appearances for Chris Caffery |
