After that they split up, but reformed in 1997 as Nargoventor. Soon after that they changed their name to Azaghal, which is a name of a dwarf king in Tolkien's mythology.
Azaghal also contributed to the Ildjarn Tribute "Gathered Under The Banner Of Strength And Anger" on Pestilence Records (now known as |Target:Earth| Productions) with the track "Kulde / Skogens Hatefulle Skapning" (3:14).
Varjoherra was absent from the band for some time before leaving. Niflungr temporarily replaced him in some live gigs.
