- The band initially started off as just a Heavy/Speed Metal band. Eventually, their form of "extreme" Thrash Metal became better known as their Death Metal sound. Many hail Vader as one of the first Death Metal bands from Poland, placing their country on the international Death Metal scene.
- Piotr Wiwczarek took over as the vocalist in 1988. In the early years he used the nickname Behemoth.
