S.A. was founded in 1988, a time that displayed many bands in the Basque Country that changed their style from pure Punk to a Metal approach.
Over these years S.A. has become a polemical and successful band with a great recognition in the underground Spanish Punk and Metal scenes, as well as other Latin countries, especially Mexico.
Since 2002 on the band has been accused by a Terrorism Victims Association and right-wing political parties of supporting ETA (a pro-independence Basque terrorist group), but they were absolved. Anyway, this propaganda caused they were banned to play in some places (for 3 years in Madrid).
Their style has changed over the years, from a Crossover Thrash at the beginning to a Groove Metal/Hardcore sound, sometimes close to Mallcore and always with Punk Rock incursions. |
