Biography

Vinnie Paul was best known as the drummer for groove metal bands Pantera and Hellyeah.

Vinnie was the brother of Dimebag Darrell, with whom he co-founded Pantera. His father, Jerry Abbott, was a famous country music producer and songwriter.

He originally played the tuba, but was directed towards the drums by his father, who said there were "no career prospects for a tuba player". His father ...

Trivia

Vinnie was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.

He listed his influences as Peter Criss, Tommy Aldridge, Bill Ward, John Bonham, Mikkey Dee, Alex Van Halen, and Neil Peart.

He appeared in Black Label Society's music video for their cover of Bill Withers's "Ain't No Sunshine".
