Biography

Khan is principally known for having been the singer and co-songwriter for the American power metal band Kamelot from 1998 to 2011; previously he studied opera singing for three years and joined the Norwegian progressive/power metal act Conception from 1991 to 1998.

Trivia

Khan was born to a Norwegian mother and a Thai father and took both their surnames even though he's mainly known simply as Roy Khan. He is married to Elisabeth Kjærnes, and they have two children together, Stella and Gabriel.

Khan's maternal grandfather, Kåre Sætre, was a major influence in his musical aspirations and is something Khan would state in several interviews.
