Biography
Richard Hugh "Ritchie" Blackmore (born 14 April 1945) is a British guitarist and songwriter, who began his professional career as a session musician as a member of the instrumental band The Outlaws and as a backing musician of pop singers Glenda Collins, Heinz, Screaming Lord Sutch, Neil Christian, and others. Blackmore was also one of the original members of Deep Purple, playing jam-style rock ...Trivia
Ritchie formed Rainbow as a side project when he wanted to record a cover of "Black Sheep of the Family" (originally performed by the English progressive rock band Quatermass), which was an idea apparently rejected by Deep Purple while recording "Stormbringer".Married to Candice Night, with whom they perform as Blackmore's Night.
