Biography
Pete "Commando" Sandoval is widely regarded as "the father of the blast beat", and one of the fastest drummers in the death metal scene.Sandoval was forced to take time out from Morbid Angel from 2010 through 2011 after undergoing back surgery. He also could not participate in the recordings of "Illud Divinum Insanus", making it the first official full-length in the band's career not to ...
Trivia
According to David Vincent, the band once played a prank on Sandoval by making him listen to a band that used a preprogrammed drum machine, and pretending it was a real drummer who could play faster than he could. Sandoval was gutted, and went on to practice until he managed to play faster than the machine.
