Biography

Brueland was an artist and popular night club DJ who struck a friendship with Nightwish (and Tuomas Holopainen in particular) after discovering their cover of "Walking in the Air", originally written by by Howard Blake in 1982. He joined the band on stage in 2003, when Nightwish were playing at the ProgPower festival in Atlanta.

Trivia

Brueland died of fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma, a rare form of liver cancer.

Nightwish dedicated the song "Higher than Hope" on their album Once as a tribute to him.
