Biography
Lars Ulrich was born in the city of Gentofte, Denmark, on 26 December 1963, the son of a professional tennis player - Torben Ulrich (who also owned a jazz club). Ulrich originally came to the U.S. to pursue tennis dreams. He ended up changing his mind after he formed Metallica.Ulrich also organized the "NWOBHM '79 Revisited" Various Artist compilation with music journalist Geoff Barton. It was released on Caroline Records and later on Metal Blade Records.
