Biography
Son of veteran jazz drummer 'Sir' Pierre Courbois and art teacher Wendelina Courbois-Dam. In 1976, he started to play the bass guitar (he also played the drums, Indian tablas and the Scottish bag pipes at that time), and played his first live performance at the young age of 11, in 1978. He studied jazz bass guitar at the Lyceum of Music in Arnhem, NL.Trivia
Whistler-Courbois-Whistler was an instrumental rock/shred band that he played in during the early '90s with Cyril Whistler (guitars, sitar, violin) and Jusso Whistler (drums, percussion). They released a self-titled album (1991) and EP ('92) for the RCA label, and self-released the album "Privilege" in 1993.
