Translation of the album title: The Madrigal of (the) Night - Eight Hymnes to the Wolf in Man.
The album's title as well as all the lyrics are written in the style of archaic XIXth century Dano-Norwegian.
No song titles appeared on this album initially, whereas they were numbered by latin numerals in the booklet from I to VIII, but they are known as listed from promo editions and reissues.
The official Ulver site states this as a 1996 album, in fact it was released in 1997: The European version came out in March and the US version in April.
Composed and arranged during the first half of 1995.
