The demo has a dedication on the back cover, which reads: “To the priests, the soldiers, the judges, to those people who educate, instruct and govern men, we dedicate these hymns of Murder and Blood.” This is almost identical to the dedication in Octave Mirbeau’s 1899 novel "The Torture Garden (Le Jardin des supplices)," from which the band took its name.
