The recording took place during a show inside Johannes cathedral in Bergen, Norway. The cathedral was equipped with a pipe organ which was played during the performance. Attila Csihar from Mayhem (Nor) also contributed vocals for this performance.

Taken from the Southern Lord Website:

"Due to circumstances beyond our control we regret to inform you that the previously proposed GRAY MARBLE color edition of: sunn 0))) - Dømkirke has been changed to a slight variation of the original proposed color. Our manufacturer has informed us that they have had severe problems with the quality control of 180 gram "marble" color vinyl. They said that when attempting to press this particular color of vinyl the end product had excessive surface noise. This is what our manufacturer had to say:"

"Due to the combination of the cut of the record, and white vinyl which is extremely stiff material which is needed to mix with black to make gray, the flow of the material does not fill the grooves properly"

The pressing details for Sunn O))) - Dømkirke are as follows:

(5000) 180 gram black vinyl
(1000) 180 gram blue (transparent) vinyl
(900) 180 gram clear w/ black streaks/swirls (transparent) vinyl

Red vinyl pressing of 600 copies was issued through Hot Topic.
