Christ Illusion is Slayer's first release featuring the original line-up since 1990's Seasons in the Abyss.

A special edition re-release was made by Columbia Records July 24th 2007, featuring the previously unreleased track "Final Six" (04:10) and an alternate version of "Black Serenade" (02:58). That last song replaced the original version. This edition also contains a bonus DVD called "Slayer on Tour '07", a clip of the "Unholy Alliance Tour" and some behind-the-scenes footage. A special edition exclusive to Hot Topic stores featured two other bonus live tracks: "Disciple" & "Mandatory Suicide". Both of these bonus tracks were recorded on the above mentioned Unholy Alliance Tour.

Also released on Picture-LP in September 2006 and on red-vinyl LP in early 2007.

Recording information:

Recorded at NRG, North Hollywood, and Westlake Studios, Los Angeles.
Mixed at Pulse Recording, Silverlake, CA.
Mastered at Sony Music Studios, New York, NY.
