"Twilight of the Flies" is featured on Earache Records' "Thrashing Like a Maniac" compilation, 2007 (cat. # MOSH 360).

A video for the song "Blood Fever" (directed by Adam Powell) was released.

Quote from the "Encyclopedia of the Zombie: The Walking Dead in Popular Culture and Myth":
"The Awakening" is an epic, cinematic concept album set in the year 2025, it depict an Earth overrun by a highly contagious strain of rabies. The 15 songs explore various aspect of this hypothetical zombie apocalypse, mirroring many narrative elements found in the film "28 Days Later", 2002. The opening track "Everything Is Not Under Control" includes the lyrics "the end is really fucking high" which alludes to a graffiti seen in the stairwell of an abandoned church in "28 Days Later". More subtile and sophisticated symbolism appears in "Sever", which parallels zombiism with failed or pathalogical romantic attachment.
A bonus CD features keyboard-dominated instrumental tracks, reminiscent of the soundtracks to "Assault on Precinct 13", 1976 and "Day of the Dead", 1985. Intended to serve as a soundtrack for the imagined film, it closes with a spoken words track, describing the spread of the zombie infection and the apocalypse results.
A promotional video for "Blood Fever" includes a distinct nod to the "Return of the Living Dead" series. The band members drink from a bowl of punch, which has been accidentally polluted with 2-4-5 trioxin, a U.S. Army research chemical that is the cause of zombiism in the "Return of the Living Dead" series." ~ Jeff Snell (@ 2014 ABC-CLIO)
