This is the Norwegian-language version. The band's biggest national success, since it was more listener-friendly than the other albums.

The English-language version was released in February 1996 and was called "Metropolis - The Grandmaster Recordings".
It contains the same songs as the Norwegian version, with (mostly) different names and different lyrics sung in english.
The length of some of the tracks differ from the Norwegian version. In addition there are three songs not on the Norwegian release ("Television Kisses", "Octopus" and "In Oblivion"), and the Norwegian version has one song not on the English version ("Epilog").
A 2LP version of "Metropolis - The Grandmaster Recordings" was also released, with a different track-sequence and the "Epilog"-track missing from the CD included as "Spellbinder Part II".
