Recorded and mixed at Masterplan Studios, Hildesheim, West Germany, December 1989.

The first edition was released on vinyl, featuring red song title print on the back cover, while the the second edition featured green print on the back cover. A very limited edition (1000 copies) was released on splatter vinyl.
The CD release featured 10 bonus tracks including two Pleasure in Life compilation tracks, the Split LP and the complete Extreme Deformity EP. CD edition additional tracks:

Re-released on CD in 1993 with alternate cover art and re-recorded versions of "Embalmed in Sulphuric Acid", "Blood, Pus and Gastric Juice" and "Suspended Animation" (recorded during the Dirty Rhymes and Psychotronic Beats session) replacing the original recordings for those specific songs and without any sort of bonus tracks.
