According to Mikael Ã…kerfeldt, they recorded 2 versions of the EP. The first version was more "brutal" than the version released.
The first version was with the trio Fred, Anders and Jonas and Mikael on guest vocals. The second time with Jonas (drums) and Anders (guitars and bass) and Mikael on vocals. Fred is only credited.

A fourth song titled "Untrue" (02:34) was also recorded during these sessions but left off the EP. This track was eventually released on Brave Yester Days (Compilation, 2004).

The last of Katatonia's doom-death metal material.

The cover is a still from the surrealist film Begotten.

* Re-released on 10" vinyl, in October 2013, with a commemorative T-shirt. This version includes the song "Untrue".

Recording information:

Recorded at Sunlight Studio in 1997.
