Videos were made for the songs "Breaking the Law" and "Living After Midnight"

2001 remaster bonus tracks:
- Red, White & Blue (previously unreleased, originally is from the July 1985 Turbo sessions at Compass Point Studios, Nassau)
- Grinder (live, recorded at Long Beach Sport Arena, Long Beach, CA., May 5, 1984 [the liner notes are incorrect])

The remastered version of this CD (Columbia 451123 2) has the original track list, with the first three songs being "Rapid Fire", "Metal Gods" and "Breaking The Law" in that order, and also changed places of "You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise" and "Living After Midnight".
Their record company changed the track list at the release of the album, so that it opened with "Breaking The Law", and side B (of the tape and LP) opened with "Living After Midnight", as both were singles.

Re-released in 2009 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the record, this version comes with a bonus DVD and features different cover art.

A "Classic Albums" documentary has been made for "British Steel", chronicling its inception, recording process and legacy.
