Original, 1982 Japanese vinyl edition contains the additional track "Total Eclipse" (originally B-side of Run to the Hills 12") and (in first copies only) limited, large colour poster of Eddie holding the British flag.

The 1995 reissue comes with a bonus cd with the following track list:

It also contains a special enhanced CD-ROM multimedia section with videos, exclusive photo galleries, biographies, internet links plus a deluxe 24-page colour booklet with full lyrics, Eddie art and photos.

''The Prisoner'' was inspired by the 1967 TV series of the same name. The spoken intro to the track is directly lifted from an episode intro.

"22 Acacia Avenue" was originally written by Adrian Smith and perfromed by his pre-IM band Urchin.

According to the liner notes, Iron Maiden once faced the members of Scorpions in a soccer/football match. They tied, 1-1.
