Recorded on 6th April 1974 at California Jam festival. Show was televised by ABC-TV in prime time. The concert suffered from several technical problems.

Virtually almost same release as "California Jamming" (1996, also in the database). Known also under several other names, including "Live at the Ontario Speedway '74" and "Live at the California Jam". However, these releases lack song "Lay Down, Stay Down", so this also can be seen as another live album, since this is remastered, has different cover, different name and one new track...

The show where this live album is recorded, have became famous, since guitarist Ritchie Blackmore first attacked one of the ABC cameras that was coming between him and audience, hitting it several times with his guitar (which of course broke, and which he then threw to the audience). After that he also blowed up his Marshall amps.
