"Th[e] debut album was recorded on a very low budget at various studios around the Los Angeles area. It was compiled demos that Combat/Relativity really liked and decided since the songs were already completed they would sign Agent Steel and put out the record. Before these demo recordings the only music available on Agent Steel was a one-song demo tape that was floating around the underground with the song "144,000 Gone"." - liner notes to 1998 reissue of Skeptics Apocalypse.
"The first demo which got Agent Steel signed to Combat Records was a one song demo with the track 144,000 Gone. The second demo had 4 songs on it and it secured a deal with Roadrunner Records in The Netherlands. We rehearsed in West Los Angeles 3-4 times a week." - Juan Garcia, http://www.mirgilus.com/interviews/agentsteel.html
